For Weather Info in the KMC area!

Call 06371-472653 and it'll tell you if school has been canceled or delayed and if delayed reporting has been authorized (KMC commander usually makes the decision by 0500). Of course, the reporting time is ultimately up to your or your spouse's unit commander. Even the recorded message (usually) says to call your chain of command for confirmation.

I would like to add something to this tread. My Husband works for the 21 st weather squadron and let be the first to tell you they have no info on schools closings. They get people screaming at them all the time, mostly moms about school closings and road conditions. They are not the ones who make these calls. They just put out the weather. The base makes the calls on road conditions and school closings.
So please give them a break it is not the easiest to forecast for this region and screaming moms complaining about how they cant get their kids to school is really not top priority. Think about the bigger picture here, and why are troops are here.

Those poor weather guys. I am glad you added this thread. I am sure tons of people thought that they were the ones to make the call. In baumholder its the same:post commander/ chain of command and for schools the principals make the call.

My husband always calls Staff Duty to get the road conditions and such, you would think that wives would be more courteous then that and know the proper channels to find things out, ie the schools and such. You are right, they should think about why they are here, lol the bigger picture, thanks for the information!
